Halloween at Home

What better time to make a “homemade costume” than when you are spending the holiday celebrating at your/your friend’s house? Speaking for myself, and 90% of people I know, we’re all pretty crafty! When it comes to making the bare minimum out of household items, we kill it.

Halloween is at a tricky time of year because it can be cold or hot depending on many factors, so knowing that you can DIY for either is always clutch. I went with the simplest thing I could think of which was something all black and comfortable. Half of my closet is black, (which I’m 100% ok with) and I know there are tons of pieces that can be made into a costume just by adding a few accessories.

All of that to say, I went with my version of Sandy from Grease: an off the shoulder black top (long sleeve because it was chilly), black leggings, a black belt with a prominent buckle, red shoes, red lipstick, curly hair, and a black leather jacket (not pictured). It almost felt too easy to put together.

I actually felt the spirit of Halloween more than ever before because I still felt like myself but just a different version than I normally show. Moral of the story, find something in your closet to make into a costume and make it YOU!
