Sizing
What even is a Small, Medium, and Large anymore? As much as I love shopping, for years it was incredibly frustrating until I learned that I was either a large or it just wasn’t going to fit. Even then, I would try on larges and realize that they fit differently than a large in another brand. Not to mention, weight fluctuation and body dysmorphia. And trust, I’m not just throwing these words around.
I have been in the fashion industry for a few years now, and it’s still shocking that we haven’t figured sizing out yet. I try things on that I’ve had for years in a particular size and they still fit, but I can’t fit into that same size of something new—It’s gotta be the quality and the fabric, right?! Here’s what I’ve come to realize and I hope you will too: sizes aren’t real, and you shouldn’t try to fit into any mold the industry has tried to create.
This is why I spend hours on end shopping for my store to bring pieces into your home that actually fit! For years, I tried to be a size medium, even though it was so hard to maintain. I know my body now and I make healthy choices so I’m comfortable being a large, sometimes extra large. (Sometimes medium- what?!). And let’s not forget about number sizing!! I always go in thinking I’m one number size, but sometimes it’s just as off as S,M,L sizing.
I hope to one day have a better grip on sizing and only provide the best quality clothing in easy to understand “true to size” sizes. So far, I am shopping brands that are body positive and size inclusive! I can’t wait to see how the industry continues to grow and provide you all fire lewks! Here’s to not letting sizing discourage us anymore and also, let’s hope baggy jeans and oversized fits stay a thing!
P.S. Refer to Ryan’s Recommendations in my product descriptions; I try everything on before releasing and provide sizing guidance.
